I’m Kate Emht.
I am a composer and piano teacher in St. Louis, Missouri. My music is an eclectic mix of individual pieces in various styles and genres, including:
Pedagogical Music: Original pieces and arrangements for piano students and teachers
Film Music: Compositions written for film, television and radio use
Rock Music: Original rock songs in Classic Rock, Pop, Soul, and Techno genres
Classical Music: Original works for solo piano, large and small ensembles, voice and choir
Sacred Music: Worship Songs and Liturgical Music for the Catholic Mass
I completed my Bachelor's of Music in Theory and Composition at Webster University in St. Louis Missouri, and my Master's in Music History and Literature at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. I studied with Bob Chamberlin and various other composers at Webster University. I later worked as a graduate assistant for the on-staff musicologist Melissa Mackey, writing program notes for the SIU Symphony.
I completed my thesis on the topic of “Trends in the Music of Dying Composers” in 2004 and presented it at the 2005 Conference on Arts and Humanities. I have been teaching piano since 2001 and am dedicated to the musical education of children. I have utilized many of my compositions in my piano teaching, and enjoy composing music for a variety of uses in a wide mix of styles.

This is the perfect easy start for little pianists.
And when they start reading white-key notes on the staff, this is a fun easy resource to say each week, "Choose a new black-key song at home this week and figure it out to show me next lesson!" They will be spending more time at the piano.

A perfect read aloud storybook
for little boys or girls.
