The Wild Mountain Thyme song has appealing Irish lyrics, and a beautiful melody. Download free tabs & sheet music for:
Ella Roberts' version has been an inspiration to my vocal students, and to me as well... I've wanted to sing this music for years, but had never encountered the melody sung in 3/4 time. Yes, really! My only knowledge of the piece was a nebulous melody written in 4/4, which never quite seemed to work for me.
So this version, in 3 time, seeming to swing beautifully along with pulsing energy, was a revelation to me! I love it.
My piano arrangements (in process!) will be in higher keys.
I've arranged two Middle C shared-hands versions for beginning piano students, with 6/4 timing instead of 3/4, so they can count easily - no dotted quarter notes!
The one shown below includes all lettered notes:
My small choir - six girls this year - performed this lovely arrangement at our spring recital. We enjoyed practising it just as much as performing it, I think! Strangely enough, this arrangement STARTS with 4 beats a measure, then switches to 3 beats on page 3! There is a definite change in the emotional texture when that happens.
Almost done! Just another couple days, maybe less. (June 13th, today.)

This is the perfect easy start for little pianists.
And when they start reading white-key notes on the staff, this is a fun easy resource to say each week, "Choose a new black-key song at home this week and figure it out to show me next lesson!" They will be spending more time at the piano.
A perfect read aloud storybook
for little boys or girls.
The Adventures of Tonsta highlight the travels of a very young boy with a good heart, who goes about helping folk in trouble.
With a red cap on his head and a sack of tools slung over his shoulder, Tonsta seems to meet people in distress wherever he goes.
Lots of trolls in this book - including one who gives him a Christmas gift!

Like some of you, I've been playing the piano since early childhood, and have added a few other instruments along the way, plus an interest in arranging and composing music.
