I know what you're saying, what I mean the scales I posted are so much easier to understand just at the first glance, especially for beginners :) Put both charts side by side next to a beginner and ask them to play a scale and I bet they can do it off the bat with the scale I posted.

Sure they could. They are very information-laden charts. Have you thought about turning them into PDFs to make them easier to print?
