Why Don't You Put Names Over the Notes?

by Zhanna
(Australia)

You should put the notes names above the notes. It would be sooo much easier for learning children. Thanks!

Dana:

Hi, Zhanna,

If I did that, the learning process would be short-circuited -- that is, I would be cheating kids of the opportunity to wrestle with the notes.

But you, the teacher or parent, can help the child write in the notes himself. It would be a one-time exercise, but still would help them each time they looked at Ode to Joy. (This little song is quickly memorized; then they won't look at the notes or note names anymore!)
