Morning Has Broken - This piece will always have a special place in my heart. Back in the early 70's I had just been invited to share an apartment with a friend and a friend of hers. I did not know her friend, and her moving in was delayed a few days because her mother had just died of cancer. When she arrived, she told us about the funeral, noting that she and her sister had chosen "Morning Has Broken" as the centerpiece of the music. That girl became and remains a dear friend of mine. And that Cat Stevens album remains one of my lifetime favorites - with the distinction of the special power "Morning Has Broken" evokes in reminding me of the loving memories she shared of her mother. I am going to use the Lead Sheet as a start to learn this piece so that I can play it for her.
